Local Roleplay Meta-Techniques

LOOK DOWN SAFETY Meta-Technique

At DRGA games we implement the check-in and other safety mechanics outlined in the guidebook. We have also implemented an additional one. - the LOOK DOWN meta-technique.
The Look Down meta-technique is a way to exit a scene without notice, interrupting the scene. It can be used when a player feels overwhelmed or needs to leave the a scene for a physical or emotional emergency. If someone leaves a scene in this way it is their personal business and are under no obligation to share their reasons. OK check ins are probably appreciated after the scene or time has passed. Players should not use this meta-technique to avoid character consequences.
Look Down is communicated by placing your flat palm on your brows and as if shading your eyes.

Suspicious - Meta-technique

When a character is lying or misrepresenting information in play, you may use the Suspicious meta-technique to inform other players that your character is saying something wrong.

This is an optional meta-technique which you can use to make your role play more transparent. This symbol does NOT inform other players of your character's intent or beliefs--just that the information they're saying is wrong.

Physical Action: When your character is speaking, cross your index and middle fingers and place them on your chest.

What this Represents: Characters who see this symbol can freely realize this is a lie of some sort.
